There is a large group of fun loving resident seniors and their guests that meet up outdoors at Chaparral Lake to play non-competitive pickleball.

Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the world and is played on a court about half the size of a tennis court. Pickleball is ideal for seniors who can get out and get some exercise in a fun loving atmosphere at our beautiful venue at Lake Chaparral. If you are ever strolling by the courts, feel free to stop and ask questions

We have already started started playing in May, Weather permitting. We will  soon be publishing our summer schedule which starts June 1st. Come on over to your lake to get a feel for the game.

For more information please contact Dave or Maureen Bisanti at 403-254-8070

Organized play on Wednesdays from 12:00pm to 2:00pm, Training Play on Saturdays from 9:00am to 10:30am, and Family Play on Saturdays from 10:30am to 12:00pm.

Stage 1

This is a Learn to Play program. Learn the foundation of pickleball.  Proper grip, the beginning of good movement patterns and balance. Stroke development, both forehand and backhand, introduction to the volley, service plus return, and the rules.

Stage 2

After the Stage 1 program you will be developing sports-specific shots  and their techniques. No more hitting without any control.

Prerequisites include two or more of the following:

  • 5 week Learn to Play Program
  • Have a basic understanding of pickleball rules and scoring
  • Have played pickleball more than a dozen times

Stage 3

When skills from Stage 2 have developed, move onto Stage 3. Improve the quality of your forehand, backhand and volleys. Start to developing

an understanding of court positioning. At this level we will continue to work on improving your serve.

Stage 4

At this Stage 4 level we will work on sustaining longer rallies. We will continue to work on improving all strokes, especially the backhand. In this stage

will be focused on moving to the NVZ line and improve our volley and drop shots. At the end of Stage 4 we will have a good understanding of the tactics.

Family Lessons

These classes are a family focus pickleball lessons for the pure beginner to an intermediate level of play, for at least one guardian with multiple children, ages 8 – 17. Ideal for grandparents or parents that want to play pickleball with their child/children. These are one-day classes to see if everyone is enjoying the experience.

Condition Games with Kevin

This class  is for a pickleball player at Stage 3 to 4 level with a fun adjustment.
Each week a new pickleball shot will be the focus. The pickleball shot will be demonstrated, and explained to you. We will then play games that focus on that pickleball shot.
Here is an example: If 3rd shot drops are the focus for the lesson, after the technical explanation,  the game you will play will have a rule that you must hit a 3rd shot drop on every rally,  or you lose the rally.
The scoring is kept. Play can be a bit competitive, but the focus will be getting better on the focus pickleball shot.

Organized Play level 2.0 – 2.5  and Organized play level 2.6  and above.

This is a time to come play.  Why join organized play?

  • We only take 5 people per courts, play 4 games, rest one
  • All players mix together
  • We only allow the people that have pre registered to play
